Cushla started with a simple observation: some kids just need a little more at bedtime. Not more rules, not more routines — just something that feels safe, soft, and close.

Where the idea came from

The Cushla pillow idea came one night while lying with one of our two boys who struggled to settle at night — not from defiance, but from needing more sensory input to feel calm. As loving parents, we scoured the internet for any solutions, but the products available weren't quite right. Most pillows are designed for adults, scaled down. We wanted something different, something that provided them more than just support at the head and neck. Our children needed to feel that full-body snuggle and sensory experience to truly feel safe.

The Cushla pillow is a contoured comfort pillow for kids ages 3–6, with soft plush side arms and gently weighted hand pads — fully sealed inside, nothing a child can get at. A removable, washable cover. A calm, minimal design in dusty blue and blush on warm cream. Made for the moments before sleep.

What does Cushla mean? Cushla (pronounced KOOSH-la) comes from the Irish Gaelic endearment "a chuisle mo chroí" — "pulse of my heart." It's a name for someone cherished. We chose it because that's exactly who this pillow is for.
